The garage door does not open from the wall control button – make sure you check the wall control button and make sure the “lock” function has not been switched on. Make sure to check the power source of the overhead motor as the garage buttons are ties to the garage door opener as a power source. The motor protector may also be open, which will not allow the motor to work. Once reset, wait about 20 minutes before trying to open door with wall control remote.

The garge door opens and closes for no apparent reason – Make sure to check the staples keeping the wires to the wall from the control to the overhead power unit. Sometimes stables can short wires which can cause the door to open and close. Erase all your remote codes and recode your remotes in case someone has the same garage code as you do.

Garage door starts to open but stops just before its completely open – Make sure the garage door is properly lubricated and is free from any hang ups. Adjusting the chain will also help to get the door to open fully. Also make sure to check the “open force” adjustment settings on the overhead power motor.

The garage door opener motor runs, but the door does not open - Check the carriage slide and make sure it is engaged to the chain. Check the force adjustment and change the settings if necessary. Check the sprocket on the garage door opener. If the sprocket is not turning it is most likely stripped and needs to be replaced. Too much tension or slack in the chain will cause the sprocket to damage.
